Why we built this

About Doorstep

Doorstep was born out of a clear need: more transparency in the interview and candidate experience.

This is one of the worst hiring economies in memory. Endless rounds, ghosting, unpaid take-home tests, opaque timelines — candidates go through it alone, with no way to know what they're walking into until they're already in it.

We think that needs to change. Doorstep is a place to rally together, share what actually happens behind the interview process, and advocate for better treatment of candidates — not just after they're hired, but from the very first interview.

This is a start. And this will always be a candidate-first platform. No company logins, no employer dashboards, no one we answer to but you.

The only thing we ever charge for is unlocking the full list of interview questions a company has actually asked, along with pointers on how to approach them — built from real candidates who were just in that room. Everything else — every review, every rating, every company page — stays free, always.

Our principles

Candidates first
Every decision is made for the person interviewing, not the company hiring.
Process, not gossip
We focus on rounds, timelines, difficulty and outcomes — not salaries or office drama.
Always free core
Reviews, ratings and company pages will never sit behind a paywall.
Reciprocal, not aggressive
Extra value is unlocked by sharing, subscribing, or both — never by coercion.
